Area Manager – Water Treatment

Our client is a leading water treatment company supporting industrial and institutional customers across the Midwest. They design and deliver programmes for boilers, cooling towers, closed loops, and wastewater systems, combining best-in-class chemistry with reliable on-site technical support to drive asset protection, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Position: Area Manager

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Area Manager to lead operations across Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota. This role combines technical expertise with leadership and commercial acumen, ensuring the delivery of high-quality water treatment solutions while driving growth and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Manage and support Account Managers and technical service representatives, ensuring consistent delivery of service excellence.
  • Technical Oversight: Analyse water chemistry data and convert findings into actionable strategies that meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Business Development: Identify new opportunities, accelerate sales initiatives, and expand wallet share within existing accounts.
  • Safety Commitment: Promote and enforce a safety-first culture across all operations and communications.
  • Client Engagement: Conduct site surveys, assist with technical reviews, and contribute to proposal development for tailored solutions.
  • Programme Management: Set KPIs, troubleshoot system issues, and optimise water treatment programmes for maximum efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, programming, and sales teams to customise applications and enhance customer experience.
  • Strategic Reviews: Carry out annual business reviews for major accounts and identify opportunities for growth and added value.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in industrial water treatment, including programme design and technical troubleshooting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Demonstrated success in driving sales growth and building long-term client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
