Novaris Search is working with a leading Personal Care Distributor/Manufacturer. With 40 years in the industry, our client pride themselves on their technical capabilities.

Role Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join the team as the Head of Research and Development. You will be responsible for overseeing personal care formulations, reformulations and new formulations whilst also developing new applications from these formulations. You will be responsible for overseeing the development of high-quality personal care products and will play a crucial role in driving innovation and ensuring product excellence.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and execute the R&D strategy aligned with the overall business goals.

Provide visionary leadership to the R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Develop the strategy to focus more on developments for brands.

Product Development:

Lead the development of new personal care products to demonstrate the benefits of products for customers

Collaborating with customers and aiding their formulations developments

Supplier management

Meeting and nurturing relationships with suppliers

Finding new suppliers and assessing new raw materials to add to the portfolio

Quality Assurance & Research:

Establish and maintain rigorous quality standards for all products.

Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure products meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations.

Research & Innovation

Stay informed about new ingredients entering the market.

Stay informed about the latest advancements in personal care science, ingredients, and technologies.

Drive research initiatives to explore new ingredients and formulation techniques that enhance product performance and market appeal.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cosmetic Science, or related field.

Proven experience developing personal care formulations.

Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Ability to think strategically and drive innovation within the organization.
