Director of Business Development – Personal Care

Novaris is currently working with a growing contract manufacturing company who strive to provide the highest quality personal care, home care and OTC products. Our client is searching for a Director of Business Development. This is an integral hire for the organisation, and they require someone with a strong background & understanding in personal care contract manufacturing and with a proven ability to find, secure & convert new business. This is a remote role with travel as needed.

Role

Our client are looking for a ‘hunter’ and require someone with a strong background & understanding in personal care contract manufacturing and with a proven ability to find, secure & convert new business.  The successful candidate will understand what business winnable, which brands is have staying power and which global accounts will be a good fit. The ideal candidate will be able to build a strong pipeline and will have strong success converting the pipeline.

 

Key Responsibilities:

New Customer Acquisition:

  • Leveraging your expertise in sales, industry insights, and relationship-building skills, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the personal care industry.
  • Identify and target potential clients within the personal care industry, including but not limited to beauty, skincare, haircare, and fragrance brands of a range of sizes.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to engage with prospective clients, focusing on both hunting (new business development) and farming (account management and growth) strategies.
  • Lead the full sales cycle, from prospecting and initial contact to contract negotiation and close.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including decision-makers and influencers within target companies.

 

Industry Insights and Market Analysis:

  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments within the personal care sector.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging opportunities and potential areas for expansion.
  • Utilize industry insights to tailor sales pitches and presentations to address the specific needs and challenges of prospective clients.
  • Relationship Management:

Sales Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies and plans to achieve revenue targets and business objectives.
  • Set clear and measurable goals for business development activities, and track progress against targets on an ongoing basis.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine sales tactics and approaches based on market feedback and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams and departments within the organization
  • Able to be a visible leader within the commercial team

 

Candidate requirements

  • 15 years within contract manufacturing
  • Proven experience within personal care contract manufacturing
  • Proven ability to identify and secure new business
  • Proven success converting the pipeline
